Using the site

Boardit is free to use and needs no account — a guest seat asks only for a name. You may play as much as you like. You may not attempt to break the site, disrupt other people’s games, automate play, or work around the limits that keep rooms fair.

Behaviour at the table

Rooms have chat. Do not use it to harass, threaten or abuse anybody, and do not post other people’s personal information. A room code seats whoever holds it, so share yours only with people you actually want at your table.

Accounts

You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. We may remove an account that is being used to abuse other players or the site. You can have your account deleted at any time by emailing privacy@playboardit.com.

The games are original

Every game on Boardit is written here — its board, its rules, its artwork and its text. Where a page compares one of them to a well-known commercial game, that comparison names the other product only to describe the genre, and says so plainly on the page. No trademark, board, artwork or component belonging to anybody else is reproduced anywhere on this site.

What is not promised

The site is provided as it is. It is a free board-game site run by one person: it may go down, a room may end early, and a game in progress may be lost. Nothing here is critical infrastructure and it should not be relied on as though it were. To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss arising from using it.

Advertising

The site carries advertising through Google AdSense. What that means for your data is set out in the privacy policy.

Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the site after that is how you accept the new version.
